Our sensor with four inputs - also for higher currents
The Harvy2 ROGOWSKI LoRaWAN IoT sensor differs from the standard Harvy2 only in its metering inputs. Three of these are reserved for Rogowski coils, which offer clear advantages over conventional current transformers thanks to their wide measurement range, flexibility and light weight. At the fourth input, a voltage transformer taps a voltage signal and ensures a constant power supply to the sensor. Once installed, the LoRaWAN current sensor operates fully autonomously and requires no maintenance.
Functions and details
A typical application of the Harvy2 ROGOWSKI is the metering of active power, active energy (meter readings), RMS currents and more for all three phases in main or sub-distribution panel, or directly at the equipment. Simply connect three deZem Rogowski coils to the current sensor, place them around the desired cables or copper busbars - and you’re ready to go! Higher currents of up to 120,000 amperes can be measured. The data is transmitted to any IoT platform, where it can be visualised and utilised. The sensor is therefore the perfect complement to our IoT solutions.
The current sensor features an intelligent event filter* that can precisely detect inrush currents from equipment. Metering values can optionally be retrieved at defined time intervals, synchronised across metering points worldwide. All parameters can be configured through an intuitive web interface, and firmware updates can be installed easily via USB-C. To ensure smooth integration into various IoT platforms, deZem provides suitable decoders.
All functions at a glance
- Compatible with deZem Rogowski coils up to 3,000 A (larger and smaller variants on request)
- Rogowski coils are often particularly easy to install, and if required, multiple conductors of a single phase can be enclosed, e.g. at the transformer output
- Comprehensive three-phase current monitoring
- Only a single-phase voltage converter for DIN rail or socket is required
- Can be used with the deZem IoT platform deZem.io or any other LoRaWAN platform
- Intelligent event filter for precise, second-by-second measurements, including starting currents, at a predefined maximum rate*
- also available as total values: Total current, active load and active energy*
- Metering intervals, data rates, event filter criteria*, coil types and much more configurable via USB-C
- Data visualisation via USB-C
- Firmware updates via USB-C
- Compact design
- Completely maintenance-free (no batteries etc.)

Versatile in use
An all-rounder for many applications
The Harvy2 ROGOWSKI current sensor is the ideal solution for wireless energy monitoring in any environment where high currents are involved. Whether in heavy industry, energy production, power grid operators , or facility management, the sensor is perfectly suited for wireless monitoring of main and sub-distributions as well as widely distributed installations or local transformers, thanks to LoRaWAN technology . Its compact design and easy installation make this maintenance-free sensor ideal for hard-to-reach locations, ensuring reliable data at all times.
A common application for the current sensor is the detailed analysis of load profiles, such as those of HVAC systems, optionally combined with indoor air quality sensors. Heating, ventilation, and cooling, which account for 30 to 50 % of energy consumption in many larger buildings are often considered low-hanging fruits for effective Energy Management - meaning the potential for savings is particularly high. For instance, halving the air exchange rate can reduce electricity costs to just one eighth.
The Harvy2 ROGOWSKI sensor reliably detects peak and base loads. It also enables automated anomaly detection, making it a key tool for predictive maintenance.

Our customers are excited

Bayer AGWe especially appreciate how easy, quick, and straightforward it is to set up the metering points.
At Bayer’s Berlin site, we have been using LoRaWAN technology with deZem’s Harvys for energy management at selected locations since 2023. Our current applications include electricity measurement, such as temporary machine performance monitoring for energy usage and demand forecasting, identifying potential savings like reducing standby consumption, and detecting peak usage. We particularly appreciate the simple, fast, and straightforward setup of metering points in areas with good LoRaWAN gateway coverage. We are eagerly anticipating the commercial release of the Harvy2, which promises even easier setup of metering points and smarter applications.
