Electronics Technician / Qualified Electrician (m/f/d), Measurement Technology & IoT Wanted

Berlin Charlottenburg | Full-time or part-time (from 75 %), permanent contract | starting immediately

You are a qualified electrician, enjoy working independently and want to do more than just pull cables? We are looking for reinforcements for our technical team: someone who configures our measurement technology, commissions it on-site with the customer and integrates new IoT sensors into our system. From the quotation to the operational system.

Apply now

Our mission:

Whether factory floor or branch building: valuable energy and resources are wasted everywhere, often without anyone noticing. That is precisely what we are changing!

With our innovative hardware and software, we enable our customers to lower costs, reduce carbon emissions, optimise production processes and achieve their ESG goals. At the heart of it all: our IoT analytics platform, which translates measurement data into clear decisions.

For this platform to have data, someone has to install the measurement technology where it's needed and ensure that it measures accurately. That is your role. Customers like DOUGLAS, Siemens, NTT and Fitness First connect tens of thousands of measurement points to our system, and every single one of them has been configured, connected and checked by someone.

Your role:

We are around 30 people in Berlin-Charlottenburg. With this position we are expanding the technical team, you will be the second qualified electrician in the company and will report directly to our COO. No intermediate level.

Working in a major electrical company, you will specialise in one trade. With us, you own the project: you assist with the technical calculation of a quote, you procure the hardware, you configure and test it in our workshop, you go to the customer and commission the system, and if anything happens afterwards, the customer calls you and not a hotline. In between, you integrate new sensor technology into our system and help decide what we actually purchase.

The hardware you are installing is our own. The people who developed it sit two doors down. You do not get that with an IT service provider that assembles third-party devices.

Not an ordinary working day:

On average, you are with the customer four to five days a month, across Germany, usually with an overnight stay. Travel is by train, the equipment is sent ahead, and the train and hotel are booked for you. No van, no weeks away on assembly jobs. The rest of the time you work in Berlin-Charlottenburg, in the workshop and at your desk.

What you are working on:

Four examples from the coming months:

  • At a production site in Westphalia: Commissioning of around 200 electricity meters and 15 LoRaWAN gateways. The customer carries out the installation themselves, and you check on site to ensure that the connection and configuration are correct.
  • At a major Berlin client's: temporary installation of around 40 electricity meters to uncover billing discrepancies. Measurement equipment as evidence.
  • For an industrial client with 20 sites: Site inspection, recording of existing and newly to be installed measurement equipment, preparation and installation.
  • Configure hardware in the house. Testing, configuring and setting up devices in our software before they go out. That is the heartbeat for everything else: what runs smoothly here, runs smoothly for the customer.

In addition to this: calibration of measuring equipment, DGUV inspections, incoming goods and workshop. Occasionally we build a control cabinet ourselves, in which case you decide what it looks like. Mostly we work on whatever is at the customer's site.

Our technology:

IoT devices via LoRaWAN . Modbus

  • Current measurement technology: our own sensors, electricity meters, current transformers
  • Analogue and digital input modules: 0 to 10 V, 4 to 20 mA, counting pulses
  • Temperature and humidity sensors
  • Interface modules for water and heat meters as well as Modbus measurement technology

If you know half of that, it's enough. You'll learn the rest here, and our own office automation is the playground for it.

What you bring:

  • Completed training as an electronics technician or comparable (electrical installer, power systems electronics technician, electrical systems fitter) or a qualification as a master electrician or qualified electrician (EFK)
  • Systematic, independent working style and a desire to see a problem through to the end
  • Safe handling of customers and service providers on-site
  • Very good German language skills (at least C1), as you will need them when dealing with the customer and during safety briefings

Nice to have, but not essential:

  • Additional qualification for live working up to 1000 VAC
  • Experience with LoRaWAN, Modbus, Node-RED, Raspberry Pi, MSR (measurement and control) or automation technology
  • Driving licence category B
  • English. We are an internationally diverse team

What we offer you

  • Training budget per year, expressly including career-advancement training: state-certified technician, master craftsman, PLC qualification. Anyone who joins us and has mastered measurement technology, LoRaWAN and sensor technology in two years will be a different professional than they are today
  • Permanent, full-time or part-time from 75 %
  • Flexible working hours around core time, working from home on a pro-rata basis for documentation and configuration
  • Future-proof business sector with a 💙for sustainability
  • 30 days of annual leave
  • Job ticket for public transport
  • Family-friendly, with great flexibility for bottlenecks and emergencies at nursery and school
  • Office in Charlottenburg, two minutes from the S-Bahn and U-Bahn
  • You're moving to Berlin for us? We'll support you with that
  • Large roof terrace with its own beehive, strawberries and tomatoes

The procedure:

Flat hierarchies start with our recruitment process. Two steps, nothing more:

  • 30 minutes virtually with Dennis, our COO. Technical, no HR screening.
  • An on-site appointment: you get to meet the team, see the workshop and the hardware, and we work through a real task together.

We will reply within two working days. A decision will be made within two weeks.

Application

Apply directly via our Applications portal. Upload your CV, add certificates (journeyman's certificate, switching authorisation), done. Two minutes, no cover letter. Due to language requirements, please submit your CV in German.

No contact from recruiters, please.
