Project launch: Smart Building Schwalm-Eder-West

The digitalisation of building infrastructure in the Schwalm-Eder-West region is officially underway: 500 sensors, including 100 wireless Harvy2 LoRaWAN current sensors, will be used in the first phase of the project.

It’s finally underway! We are very excited to make the Schwalm-Eder-West Region in northern Hessen even smarter. Together with Michael Meichsner, the Digitalisation Officer of the Smart Region, Dr Philipp Rottwilm, Mayor of Neuental, and Philipp Riegebauer from Bable Smart Cities, we are launching the digitalisation of building infrastructure.

In the first phase, a LoRaWAN network will be set up in the municipalities of Bad Zwesten, Borken (Hesse), Jesberg, Neuental, and Wabern to record electricity, gas, heating, and water consumption in ten public buildings. At the same time, the indoor climate will be monitored, measuring room temperatures, humidity, and CO2 levels. In addition to the appropriate sensors, our battery-free Harvy2 LoRaWAN current sensor will be used, ideal for wireless data collection.

Preparations are already in full swing! Our team in Berlin is currently preparing over 500 sensors, including 100 wireless Harvy2 LoRaWAN sensors. The next step will be installation on-site with support from our technicians. For analysing the measurement data, the Schwalm-Eder-West region has chosen our deZem DataSuite/ IoT software . We expect the first data by early July, demonstrating how easily energy can be saved through building digitalisation and related optimisation measures.

About deZem

Since 2003, deZem has been developing and supplying hardware and software to network and analyse sensor data from many heterogeneous sources - worldwide with projects in Europe, America and Asia. Originally started in the field of energy controlling, we have expanded our range of products and services over the years into a comprehensive system for IoT data management, from industrial analytics to plant and process monitoring to technical building management. Because the basic idea is the same: to create a scalable platform for collecting and analysing IoT data.
